Necklace "Aintab" Stitch Embroidery Needlework

This beautiful handmade necklace is produced by a Syrian Armenian artisan living in Armenia. This handcrafted jewelry plays a role in the preservation of traditional Armenian needlework techniques.  The delicate floral motif and indeed the needlework specific to the Aintab region of Western Armenia are said to have been introduced by a Norwegian missionary.
